Pro Filter Ear Plugs Designed for Musicians
Winner Red Dot Award 2015
In 2015, Alpine Hearing Protection won the prestigious Red Dot Award for the design of their MusicSafe
earplugs. The jury in charge of awarding the prize praised the “high quality and the innovative ability” of
the product.
The Alpine Pro earplugs are an expanded model of the popular MusicSafe Classic.
AlpineAcousticFilters™ – Music Quality Remains Preserved
MusicSafe Pro is the only form of hearing protection for musicians that comes with three exchangeable
filter sets, known as AlpineAcousticFilters, for low, medium and high protection. These unique filters offer
selective absorption, guaranteeing optimal protection against dangerous noise levels while preserving
outstanding music quality.
Because each filter can be exchanged, you are free to choose the appropriate level of protection based
on the instrument you are playing, the type of music or your position on the stage.
One key advantage of the Alpine MusicSafe Pro filter earplugs is that they don’t make you feel isolated.
This allows you to stay in touch with your surroundings, which can be a key advantage in a studio
recording and any other setting where you want to ensure optimal performance.
AlpineThermoShape™ Material – Extremely Comfortable, Perfect Fit
MusicSafe Pro acoustic earplugs are made with a very soft, durable and flexible material known as
AlpineThermoShape. Because of the warmth of the ear, the earplug adapts to the shape of the auditory
duct and allows you to wear it with maximum comfort. If too big, your Alpine Pro earplugs can be easily
adjusted until it’s the perfect size.
Why is it dangerous to go without MusicSafe earplugs or other hearing protection?
The safe and statutory limit on how much sound the human ear should be exposed to is 80 decibels.
Regularly listening to noise above this level will cause irrevocable hearing damage, and official reports
demonstrate that this can be far exceeded within a short amount of time.
For example, sounds of up to 120 dB have been recorded at concerts: rock bands are typically affected
by the drums and the amplifiers, while classical musicians will be more exposed to their own instrument
and those around them. Check out the following table to get an idea of how quickly the maximum exposing
time is reached:
Which Filter is Suitable for Me?
There are a variety of variables that can affect which filter is the best choice for you. Think about your
instrument, the type of music you’re playing and where you are playing it: a drummer, for example, will
typically need higher absorption levels than a singer.
